18 June 2010, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has added 8 chemical substances to the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) for authorisation.
Following the unanimous agreement of the Member State Committee, ECHA is adding 8 substances on the Candidate List, which now contains 38 substances in total. All 8 new SVHC are potentially serious effects on human health, which are carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic (CMR) substances.
A specific procedure will be followed to decide whether the substances should also be included in the authorisation list.
LT calls your attention to the following 38 SVHC (the last 8 substances in the table are newly added):

The Solution:
LT is a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world. To help identify the presence of SVHCs in both preparations and articles, Intertek has developed methods in screening and verifying components for high-risk chemicals, including the use of XRF, ICP and GC-MS techniques. The SVHCs screening test provides a cost-effective alternative to demonstrating that products are in compliance with the SVHCs Supply Chain Communication requirements.
